Description

Digital speed \/ RPM limiter with buttonDigital overspeed governor with double-check button and automatic reactivation. Digital calculation and control of speed and rpm.

FunctionsThe digital overspeed limiter is equipped with a powerful microprocessor that continuously calculates and monitors the current speed and rpm. The speed is measured using a wheel sensor and a small self-adhesive magnet, while the RPM is measured directly via the pick-up cable of the CDI ignition.

KMH modeIn KMH mode, an upper speed limit can be set. When this limit is reached, the DZB throttles the scooter by gradually reducing the speed. This is done via variably adjustable pre-stages to ensure a smooth transition. Below the set maximum speed, the speed remains unchanged, which has a positive effect on acceleration and handling when riding uphill.

RPM modeIn speed mode, the module regulates the RPM of the scooter based on an adjustable maximum speed. When this is reached, the limiter intervenes and reduces the engine speed. At speeds below the set limit, performance remains unaffected.

Combi modeIn combi mode, the limiter works with both a set RPM limit and a KMH limit. This enables fine-tuning for vehicles with high engine speeds in order to achieve a lower top speed.

Programming and controlProgramming the maximum speed\/maximum rpm is done simply by pressing the program button. To deactivate the throttle, simply press the brake and the button briefly. Reactivation is achieved by briefly switching the ignition off and on again.

Dimensions and installationThe compact housing measures 45x45x18mm with a mounting eyelet. The connection cables are 45-50cm long, the button cable is approx. 100cm long. The wheel sensor measures 28x19mm with a cable length of approx. 50cm. The sensor is attached to the front or rear wheel, while the magnet is attached either to the edge of the rim or inside the brake disk. Installation is simple using the quick cable connectors supplied.

Digital vs. analog speed limiterThe digital speed limiter offers decisive advantages compared to analog limiters. Instead of coarse steps, it enables infinitely variable speed adjustment with an accuracy of 99.9%. In addition, it only changes the ignition behavior when the limit is reached, which means that no power is lost in the lower speed range.

Advantages at a glanceDigital control of speed and rpmInfinitely programmable speed and rpmAdjustable pre-stages for smooth transitionNo power reduction below the maximum speed in KMH modeNo loss of power in the lower speed range in rpm modeAutomatic activation of the limiter with double-check safety mechanismEasy installation thanks to quick cable connectors and compact designScope of delivery and compatibilityThe scope of delivery includes the limiter, 4 quick connectors, wheel sensor with self-adhesive wheel magnet and detailed installation instructions. The unit is compatible with most 2T carburetor engines such as CPI and Keeway, but does not work with 4-strokes, direct injection engines, Morini engines or dual pickup systems.
